A Tapestry Unfolds...

A new year, a new beginning, and with the turn of a page, a new chapter unfolds in a tale of 'ohana. For those of you who have read my Bio (and if you haven't, I invite you to now) you will know how this most unusual tale of love and adventure came to be. It is the stuff of miracles- albeit minor ones, and with each passing day yet another gleaming pearl is added to this glorious strand.

The story continued where I thought it had ended. It began simply enough, a Prologue that was intended to be an Epilogue, an ending which begat a beginning and that culminated with a delightful twist that I had no idea was coming. Thus seems to be the case (and apparently the norm- I reflected wryly) as I meandered daily along this path of discovery- ideas that come from out of the blue, unexpected but entirely necessary, unbidden but refreshingly welcome.

Such is the case in the story as it continues to unfold. I now knew how it would begin, and most decidedly how it would end, and had a vague notion of the path it would follow to its' completion. But what I had no idea was coming was the veering left turn the story would take to develop a depth of character (in particular, one specific character) whom I had apparently given short shrift- one who's story is intricately intertwined with those whom you have already come to know, a necessary thread in the tapestry of 'ohana that is being woven even now.

And so it is with tongue firmly tucked into cheek that I would like to quote the immortal words of Kurt Vonnegut- '...And so it goes.'
